Useful Things(R) Finds Its CHOPs, After Effects(R) 6.5 Compatibility
by Anonymous

Verona, WI June 5, 2004--Profound Effects(R), Inc., a leading innovator in special effects technology, is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Version 1.6 of Useful Things. This unique effects plug-in now offers nearly limitless CHOPs (channel operations) potential and compatibility with After Effects version 6.5. Updates to more than 50 existing effects, enhanced stability, and new blend modes round out this new version.

Useful Things (UT) is unique among After Effects plug-ins in its flexibility and expandability. Said to be a "really huge box of crayons," UT provides effects, many geared towards broadcast designers, that cannot be found elsewhere. Many After Effects artists, including some of the most well-known personalities of all, hail Useful Things as an indispensable part of their toolset.

With its new CHOPs capabilities, UT users can enter sophisticated expressions defining how the red, green, blue, and alpha channels can be manipulated. Whole new blend (transfer) modes and even new color "looks" can be created using these features.

For those that create their own Useful Things effects (another unique aspect of UT), many new capabilities are found in the new version including blend modes per drawing operation.

Useful Things 1.6 has a suggested retail price of $295 (USD). Owners of previous versions of UT can download Version 1.6, at no cost, from the Profound eXchange. The Profound eXchange is an online community where new effects are made available from time to time. Profound Effects can be found on the web at http://www.profoundeffects.com. The Profound Effects store is located on the web at http://www.profoundeffects.com/store/.
